We lost a great ambassador for the sport of horse racing yesterday, the great Mickey Rooney. He started early in life and was influenced by his movie role in National Velvet. It was in this movie about horse racing that his love for the sport began and evolved over the next 8 decades. I remember in the late sixties or early seventies he was the front man for a book called The Dot System. a method using the consensus, giving a point or dot for each horse mentioned.I tested The Dot System years later and it does win and works if you are in a hurry and don't have time to handicap thoroughly.Well farewell Mr. Rooney horse racing will miss you...
